Message from Sheriff Hammond
The latest arctic blast has hit our area with cold temperatures, snow and icy conditions - and this means hazardous driving for everyone.
Sheriff Jim Hammond is encouraging everyone to slow down, drive safely and use caution if you have to be out on the roadways of Hamilton County. Of course, the safest thing to do is to stay home and off roadways, if at all possible.
The temperature will dip to 11 degrees and less tonight, and a winter advisory will be effect until 10:00 p.m. EST.
The sheriff is also reminding us to use caution with heating sources and don't place space heaters close to combustible objects such as furniture or clothing which are leading causes of home fires.
Sheriff Hammond and the men and women of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office are asking everyone to play it safe while dealing with this latest winter weather.
