Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at approximately 7:10 p.m. the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a shooting in the 300 block of Kelly’s Ferry Place in Lookout Valley. When Deputies arrived they found three (3) males deceased and a 4th male shot, who was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Investigators identified one shooter as Derek M. Morse w/m age 19 of Lookout Valley. A warrant was obtained and around 4:30 a.m. Morse was located and arrested at a residence off Elder Mountain Road. He was charged with attempted criminal homicide. Additional warrants will be filed on Morse charging him with three counts of criminal homicide as a result of the shooting incident. Names of the deceased will not be released at this time due to family notification.

This is an active investigation with other arrests possible. Additional information concerning this incident will be released as it becomes available.
