Update: Suspects arrested in connection with Ooltewah Georgetown Rd Fire
Detectives with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office have determined that the fire at 8528 Ooltwah Gerogetown Road, was a result of arson. Evidence indicates that on 1/6/2015, Johnny Shouse and his girlfriend, Gladys George, set fire to his (Johnny Shouse) mother’s residence with the intent to kill her while she was asleep in her bedroom. Warrants were obtained for Johnny Shouse and Gladys George charging each of them with Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Aggravated Arson. Judge Starnes set each of their bond at 3 million dollars.
On 1/8/2015, Johnny Shouse and Gladys George turned their self into law enforcement officials in the Shreveport, Louisiana area. Both remain in custody awaiting extradition proceedings. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in this investigation by the Hamilton County Fire Investigation Task Force, U.S. Marshalls Office, Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Shreveport Police.
