SWAT Call in Red Bank
Red Bank Police Department was notified earlier this afternoon by a Mental Health Official from Johnson Mental Health in regard to Linsey Rentzell w/m age 46, who resides at 208 Hedgewood in Red Bank. The mental health official talked with Mr. Rentzell by phone and determined a wellbeing check was needed by law enforcement. When contact was made with the subject in the yard of the residence by officers, he became physically aggressive and belligerent refusing to cooperate, striking a deputy in the face with his fist. He then ran into the residence refusing to respond to requests from law enforcement.
Due to the fact it was unknown if he had weapons in the house, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was requested to respond to the address to provide assistance to officers already on scene. Entry was made to the residence and after a search, Mr. Rentzell was found in the basement of the residence where he was taken into custody. He was transported by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital where he will undergo a mental evaluation before being transported to Moccasin Bend facility.
The investigation is ongoing by both the Red Bank Police Department and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, with charges pending.
