HCSO Deputies Respond to House Fire
Hamilton County, TN - On the night of June 29, 2015, at approximately 10:11 pm, Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a house fire at 4823 Hillsdale Circle.
Upon arriving on scene, deputies confirmed that the residence was on fire and was informed by the property owners that it was started deliberately. At this point, the call became an arson investigation and was treated accordingly.
The owners of the property informed deputies that they suspected their grandson, Traven Williams, had tried to burn their house down with them inside. Deputies then found matches outside the house near where the arson had taken place.
Deputies attempted to speak to Traven Williams (age 23) at which time he became combative and was tased by a HCSO deputy.
After being tased, Mr. Williams was not subdued and assaulted the deputy by hitting him in the head. At which time he ran to his grandfather and was held by him until other deputies on scene took him into custody.
The injured deputy was transported via EMS to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries as a precaution and for further testing.
Traven Williams has been brought to the Hamilton County Jail where he will be booked on several charges including Aggravated Assault. Pending further investigation further charges may follow.
