The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is confirming there was an incident at Silverdale-CCA on Saturday evening, August 15, 2015 at 9:20 p.m. between HCSO Deputy Daniel Hendrix and a female inmate, Leslie M. Hayes, who was being transported to CCA from the jail.

Inmate Hayes was combative during the transport and in the booking/intake area of CCA where the altercation between the two occurred. Inmate Hayes was being transported to CCA from the jail on an outstanding fugitive warrant out of Sessions Court. She also has charges from Chattanooga:

• Aggravated Assault

• Aggravated Burglary

• Resisting Arrest

• Disorderly Conduct

• Violation of Probation (Driving on a

Suspended License)

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Records indicate she has been in the jail at least 28 times.

The sheriff is promising to conduct a full investigation of this incident and his office will respond accordingly. Deputy Hendrix has been suspended, pending the outcome of a full investigation.

Since this incident is currently under investigation, no other information will be released until the investigation is completed.
