UPDATE: HCSO Deputies Respond to Burglary in Progress Call Off Hunter Road

UPDATE: One Suspect in Custody

On September 15, 2015, at approximately 2 p.m., Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputies took Sylvester Clifton Kirkwood Jr., age 25 into custody in the 5800 Block of Hunter Road, Ooltewah, TN.

Kirkwood was located after a concerned citizen called dispatch reporting a stranger was on his back porch. This location was not far from where the earlier burglary occurred.

When Deputies arrived, Kirkwood was taken into custody without incident.

HCSO Detectives charged Kirkwood with:

1. Aggravated Burglary (At the time of this release bond has not been set)

2. He was also booked on an outstanding Warrant for Failure to Pay Child Support, $1,000.00 purge bond

Deputies are continuing to follow up leads and ask anyone that has information about this incident to call 423-622-0022.

Hamilton County, TN - On September 15, 2015, Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 6900 block of Spinmaker Cove, Ooltewah on a burglary in progress.

Upon arriving, the owner of the residence reported that he had discovered an unknown vehicle backed up to his residence. The owner used his vehicle to block the unknown vehicle, and this is when two black males exited his house. They got into the car that had been backed in then rammed the owner's vehicle. In the process, the driver pointed a pistol at the owner of the residence. The suspects attempted to drive away, but their vehicle became stuck in the driveway. Both suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Currently, the Sheriff's Office has saturated the area in an attempt to locate the suspects.

As a precaution, nearby schools were placed on lock out. After the area was swept, the schools returned to normal security measures. Additionally, Hamilton County School Bus Services was advised of the incident.

Suspect Description:

Two black males (Suspect 1- Slim to medium build & Suspect 2 - Large build)

-One suspect was wearing a red shirt.

-The driver is reported to have pointed a gun at the victim.
