HCSO Corrections Deputy Anthony Chavez Receives Commendation and Challenge Coin
Hamilton County, TN - On July 8, 2015, while driving to work, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Deputy Anthony Chavez noticed a later model Jeep broken down on the side of the road on Highway 58 with its occupants on the side of the road.
Deputy Chavez took it upon himself to pull over in his own personal car to the vehicle in distress to offer assistance to the driver and occupant. The couple told him they had a flat tire, but their son said he was going to come and change it. Nevertheless, Deputy Chavez got down on the ground to change the tire for this couple who were most thankful to be on their way.
Deputy Chavez certainly exemplifies the role of dedicated public servant and is in keeping with the highest standards of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
Accordingly, on Friday, October 02, 2015, Deputy Chavez was presented a Certificate of Commendation and Sheriff’s Challenge Coin by Sheriff Jim Hammond and members of the HCSO Command Staff.
