Hamilton County Jail Hosts Baptism For Inmates After Emmaus Walk
Hamilton County, TN - The Hamilton County Jail, in accordance with one of over thirty (30) religious and non-religious classes for inmates to participate in, held a formal baptism ceremony for the recent Emmaus Walk graduates.
These programs are part of the Jail's mission of reduce recidivism and offer services to help rehabilitate inmates.
In order to provide these (30) programs, the Hamilton County Jail has over 100 active volunteers from numerous organizations and religious and educational institutions. Each week volunteers dedicate countless hours of service to helping rehabilitate inmates.
The Emmaus Walk is one of numerous, quality programs which seek to offer inmates the opportunity to grow spiritually and better their lives through peace and faith. The Emmaus Walk consists of three days of spiritual learning and growth for inmates sponsored by local religious organizations.
Today's event consisted of (14) inmates getting baptized after completing the Emmaus Walk.
