HCSO Deputies Help Make Gabriel "Tater" Singleton's Wish Come True

"Seven Year Old Stage Four Cancer Patient Wants to Be An Honorary Sheriff's Deputy"

Hamilton County, TN - Today, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office joined forces with News Channel 9's Kelsey Bagwell to make one of seven year old Gabriel "Tater" Singleton's wishes come true…

Gabriel, who family and friends affectionately refer to as "Tater," says he has three wishes. First, to beat his diagnosis with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer, second, to meet actor Dewayne "The Rock" Johnson, and third, to become a law enforcement officer.

Well today, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office helped answer one of his wishes…

Chief Deputy Allen Branum, along with several deputies and SWAT officers officially made little 'Tater' an official Honorary Deputy, complete with badge, hat, certificate, and challenge coin.

Deputy Tater's first official act was to give his mom, LuLu, a big hug and show her his new certificate.

Tater, now seven, has been battling Neuroblastoma for four years. Despite his lack of energy, he remains strong and resilient, hoping one day to don the badge and uniform of local law enforcement.

Many in our community will recognize Tater as he has recently started a Facebook and Twitter campaign to meet his favorite actor, Dewayne "The Rock" Johnson, star of the recent action thriller, 'San Andreas.'

Special thanks to HCSO Chief Deputy Allen Branum and Deputies' Sgt. Paul Maupin, Kyle Henegar, Breeland Kilgore, and Jonathan Parker for helping make little Tater's wish come true.
