HCSO Involved in Multiple Agency Police Pursuit
Hamilton County, TN - At approximately 10:53 pm on Tuesday night, March 29, 2016, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Deputies were requested by the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department to assist in a pursuit of a vehicle headed into Hamilton County with two occupants. An adult female was in the vehicle and the driver would not allow her exit the vehicle.
At that point, HCSO deputies and East Ridge Police Department officers deployed spike strips and were successful in deflating three of the suspect's vehicles tires.
As the vehicle continued to lead law enforcement in a pursuit, despite having three flat tires, the driver then side-swapped a HCSO Deputy’s car and eventually came to a stop after hitting a Chattanooga Police Officer's vehicle in a glancing head on collision. Both officers are ok despite having damage to their cars.
The suspect was taken into custody by means of a Chattanooga K-9 officer and then transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Once cleared from the hospital, the suspect will be transported downtown to the Hamilton County Jail and will subject to numerous charges based on the ongoing investigation.
As this is a developing investigation, no further information is available at this time.
