HCSO Investigates Several Burglaries in the East Brainerd and Ooltewah Area
- Suspects Sought in Connection with Numerous Vehicle Burglaries and Thefts -
Hamilton County , TN - During the evening hours of Monday, May 2, 2016 and continuing into the next morning, thieves targeted four subdivisions in the East Brainerd and Ooltewah area and burglarized numerous unlocked vehicles.
Items targeted by the thieves were weapons, cash, and computer tablets. Additionally, one vehicle was stolen. The vehicle is described as a 2009 Nissan, Murano, dark blue in color.
The images below were obtained from victims who have home surveillances cameras. The attached video depicts one of the suspects involved in the thefts.
It is important to note that these thefts and burglaries underline the importance of why it is imperative people lock their vehicles at all times and do not leave their keys in their cars.
When residents leave their cars unlocked with valuables present and in plain view, they greatly increase their chances of becoming victims of crimes of opportunity. This is especially true at night.
Vehicles should always be locked when not in use and all valuable should be removed prior to leaving the vehicle.
