Corporal Purvis Participates in Boater Safety Interview
Hamilton County, TN – In light of the unfortunate incident last night at Lake Junior, WDEF News Channel 12 asked if the HCSO Marine Patrol Division would participate in a story for tonight’s news regarding boater safety.
This afternoon, as part of that participation, WDEF News 12 reporter Erik Avanier interviewed Corporal Matthew Purvis. During his interview, Corporal Purvis did a great job as he offered ways to keep your family safe this summer while enjoying time on the Tennessee River or one of our many lake areas.
Corporal Purvis, a veteran member of the HCSO Marine Patrol, discussed several topics during the interview including boater safety, the negative and dangerous consequences of boating while under the influence, what safety and flotation devices are required by law to be kept aboard every vessel on the water, what precautions should be taken for children 12 years and under, and the Sheriff’s Office’s plan to work in conjunction with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) this summer to help keep boaters safe in the Hamilton County area.
Once again, special thanks to Corporal Purvis for a doing a great job at today’s interview.
