Local Motorcycle Group Donates $4000 to the HCSO for Upgraded Ballistic Vests for Reserve Deputy Program
Hamilton County, TN – This morning, at 10:30 am in front of the Police Memorial at 600 Market Street, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will hold a check presentation event with the Roughnecks Motorcycle Club.
The Roughnecks Motorcycle Club will officially offer Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond a check for $4000 to purchase upgraded ballistic vests for the HCSO Reserve Deputy Program.
The Roughnecks Motorcycle club is a non-profit brotherhood of active and retired law enforcement, firefighters, EMS and military motorcycle enthusiasts. The club has dozens of chapters from coast to coast, including seven in Tennessee and three nearby in North Georgia.
Each chapter hosts at least one charity fundraising event a year in support of wounded or fallen public safety and military personnel, terminal diseases, burn centers, and other worthy causes. Roughnecks members can also be found supporting charity rides sponsored by other law-abiding clubs.
The Hamilton County chapter hosts the annual “In the Line of Duty” ride each September, and donates thousands of dollars after each event. One of the causes supported by the 2016 Ride is a donation of $4,000 to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Reserve Fund, to purchase upgraded ballistic vests.

Interviews will be available after the event with both Sheriff Hammond and members of the Roughnecks. The media is encouraged to attend.
