Hamilton County, TN – The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating an apparent homicide which took place near the 3900 block of Niles Terrace in Ooltewah, Tennessee.

A suspect has been detained and is being interviewed by HCSO Detectives. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

This is a very active investigation at this time and the cause of the shooting has yet to be determined.

Furthermore, it is not believed this shooting is gang related and there is no risk to the public at this time.

No further information is available at this time and it is unlikely any new information will be released until possibly tomorrow afternoon.
