The Hamilton County Sheriff's office is identifying the inmate who died on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at CoreCivic.

The inmate was Dana Shunice Palmer, age 45. She was from the Saint Elmo area of Chattanooga.

Ms. Palmer was booked into the Hamilton County Jail from the Chattanooga Police Department on 02/14/2017 on a Public Intoxication charge. She was transferred from the jail to CoreCivic 02/16/2017.

The investigation is on-going at this time, therefore; there will be no further details released from the sheriff’s office until the conclusion of the investigation.
