K-9 Deputy Andrew Voss Receives Rotarian Service Award
Hamilton County, TN – Earlier this afternoon, the Chattanooga Hamilton Place Rotary Club presented Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Deputy Andrew Voss with their Outstanding Service Award at their monthly luncheon held at the Metro Tab Church.
Each year, the Chattanooga Hamilton Place Rotary Club takes the opportunity to recognize members of their local law enforcement community who have gone above and beyond to serve the needs of their respective communities and embody their organization’s motto of “Service Above Self. As part of the award, the Chattanooga Hamilton Place Rotary also included a donation to Deputy Voss’ charity of choice, the Hamilton County Humane Society.
K-9 Deputy Voss serves as the K-9 Unit Trainer for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, overseeing the training needs of our K-9 Unit with exceptional skill and dedication. A respected public servant, Deputy Voss is widely recognized as a leader in law enforcement and K-9 operations—not just in our region, but across the United States.
With over two decades of law enforcement experience, Deputy Voss has served honorably in various roles within the HCSO, including SWAT Operator, Patrol Deputy, and Corrections Deputy. His distinguished professional career also includes serving as a Violent Crimes Task Force Officer with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), where he plays a vital role in prosecuting federal gun crimes in the Eastern District of Tennessee.
"On behalf of the Hamilton Place Rotary Club, we are proud to present this award to K-9 Deputy Andrew Voss," said Roseanne Apyan, President of the Hamilton Place Rotary. "Our Law Enforcement Officers work tirelessly to support our community, often without the recognition they truly deserve. This award is our way of expressing gratitude to the entire Law Enforcement Community, and we hope it serves as a meaningful gesture to acknowledge their daily dedication and service."
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Andrew dedicated over 20 years to volunteering with the Hamilton County Rescue Squad as a Rescue Technician, specializing in rope and high-angle rescue operations, before retiring in March 2023. The rigorous training, physical endurance, and personal risk required to execute high angle rescues far exceed the standard demands of most first responders. Despite these challenges, Andrew’s selfless service has directly contributed to saving many lives throughout Hamilton County.
“Deputy Voss embodies the true essence of a servant leader. His dedication to his family, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and the citizens he proudly serves exemplifies the Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self.” His actions, professionalism, and values are a testament to why the HCSO continues to lead the way in providing outstanding law enforcement services to the citizens of Hamilton County,” stated Sheriff Austin Garrett.
Deputy Voss began his career in public service working as an EMT and Paramedic with Memorial Hospital and Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services (HCEMS). It was during his time with HCEMS when he began his initial service with the HCSO as a SWAT Medic prior to officially joining our agency full-time in 2012.
Please join us as we congratulate HCSO K-9 Deputy Andrew Voss on his award and for his service to the citizens of Hamilton County.
